Ancient Kamakura Samurai Performance

 

Experience a live samurai theater performance inspired by the history of Kamakura, the ancient samurai capital of Japan.

This special performance will take place at Jochiji Temple, one of the prestigious temples of the historic Kamakura Gozan Zen temple network. Step into the world of the samurai through dynamic sword fighting, dramatic storytelling, and the authentic atmosphere of historic Kamakura.

◆Story

As Hojo Tokimune leads the Kamakura Shogunate in preparation for the coming Mongol invasions, political tensions rise within the Hojo clan.

Noritoki of the Nagoe branch family, descendants of the powerful regent Hojo Yoshitoki, begins plotting against Tokimune.

After learning of the conspiracy, Tokimune orders his loyal retainer Yomoda to eliminate the threat.

Caught between loyalty and friendship, Tokimune’s younger brother Munemasa struggles to save Norimune, the son of the Nagoe family and his childhood companion.

As conflict spreads through Kamakura, Munemasa is forced to choose between duty, family, and honor.
